In 2012 Penguin Books published Vahram Muratyan’s book called "Paris versus NewYork”.
Being huge fans of Vahram’s work, Nord Collective always wanted to create animated version of the book. To make this tribute real we couldn’t just use original illustrations directly, so we used Vahram’s ideas as base, completely reworked design and illustrations trying to keep visual similarity to original, animated all scenes and asked our dear friend The Cosmic Setter to write and perform original music and sound design for this project.

Motion, Design and Idea production — Vladimir Tomin / Alexey Frukta
General idea behind the title sequence based on main pilot of a movie itself: main character got caught in the middle of a conflict, chased by two rival girls. The biggest challenge was to plan and direct the whole shot so there is no cuts between scenes, the whole sequence is one big scene with seamless transitions
between it’s parts.
1000+ seconds of pure animation, 100+ versions of storyboards. Visual identity was developed based on Sberbank's corporate colours to help brand's better recognition. Altho the base graphic style is flat, it was enhanced with shadows to underline simple yet elegantand strong geometrical shape of design elements. There were two main product lines, both colour-coded with blue and orange palette, accompanied with Sberbank's main green. Despite insane duration of the spot we tried to keep animation decent and polished during the whole project. There is no cuts between scenes, everything is one huge morphing animation and it was one of biggest challenges during the project.
About a year ago Alex Frukta and Vladimir Tomin joined forces for the first time ... and it was a blast!
